Dr. Shekar has been practising medicine for 20 years including over 15 years in Medical Oncology. He started his career as a Registrar in Medical Oncology at Bombay hospital in 1989. He joined All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi as Senior Resident in Medical Oncology in 1990. Currently, he is the Senior Consulting Medical Oncologist at HCG since 1992.
He treats about 20-30 patients everyday with conventional and high dose chemotherapy for both solid and haematological malignancies. His knowledge and expertise spans a vast area including:
Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy as consolidation in advanced Ovarian Cancers
Concurrent radiation and chemotherapy (BIP) in Carcinoma Cervix
